Fragrance information disclaimer
Read the library as general education about scent and materials.
Last updated October 21, 2026
Information and personal perception
The library describes common fragrance materials and wearing practices. Odor, persistence and diffusion vary with the composition, environment and wearer. Descriptions are not guarantees of how a particular perfume will smell or perform.
Skin sensitivity
Follow the finished product’s directions and patch test before wider use. A home patch test cannot rule out an allergy or replace medical assessment. Stop use if irritation occurs and see a doctor about a reaction. The library does not diagnose conditions or recommend treatments.
Raw materials
Essential oils, absolutes and aroma chemicals are concentrated materials. Do not apply them directly to skin because an article describes their aroma. These pages are not recipes, safety assessments or instructions for manufacturing cosmetics.
Sources and updates
Standards, ingredient declarations and formulas can change. Consult the current manufacturer information for the specific product. An IFRA reference is not a guarantee that a perfume is suitable for every person.
Responsibility
Use your own judgment when choosing a finished fragrance and respect product warnings. Content is supplied without a guarantee of completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Errors
Read the editorial policy and report an error if a description needs correction.
